COLIFAST CALM USED IN BACTERIAL MONITORING OF BATHING WATER
The Colifast CALM instrument is used for bacterial monitoring and quality control of bathing water at popular beach sites, ensuring safe and healthy water conditions for public use:
RECREATIONAL WATER MONITORING WITH COLIFAST CALM
CALM was used for daily measurements of fecal coliforms (FC) in the Akerselva River in Oslo during the 2011 bathing season to assess bacterial levels and determine the suitability for establishing a local beach. In the following years, testing frequency increased to twice daily, and at times up to six analyses per day, using a 2-hour rapid method.
MONITORING OF BATHING WATER WITH CALM AT POPULAR BEACH SITE
The Akerselva River flows near a popular beach in downtown Oslo. To monitor pollution levels, Oslo Municipality installed a CALM instrument to measure fecal coliforms (FC) daily. With an EU limit of 1000 cfu/100 mL for bathing water, the city needed rapid and continuous data to address potential contamination from the river.
